I've mentioned it so many times before, but I am beyond thankful for all of our outdoor living areas! We came from a house before this one that didn't have any dedicated spaces for outdoor furniture or accessories. That didn't stop me from trying to create spaces that would work, but they just never felt right.
It's been my mission here to make the most out of all the areas in our yard to "decorate" and add furniture! I love creating little rooms around the yard, including our deck, patio, and porch. While I do use a lot of secondhand items both inside the house and out, sometimes you just have to buy new to get what you want...and to have things that will last.
The first furniture set I bought for the deck was from Facebook Marketplace. It worked for use for quite a while, but I knew I wanted something a little nicer. I absolutely love the set that we got! It fits the space, works for what we need, looks great, and comes with covers for storage! The exact thing we have isn't available anymore, but I found a very similar OUTDOOR FURNITURE SET that looks just as good!
I also needed a new OUTDOOR RUG for the deck this year after a few years with the old one. I like to get the ones made out of plastic that are more like a mat because they dry out so much faster! Our deck is covered, but it still gets quite a bit of rain that blows in. I ended up getting two of the same style of rug in different sizes, so I can have one under the furniture and one under our grill and smoker that sit in the opposite corner of the deck.
Something else that we upgraded this year is our fire pit. We have loved our SOLO STOVE BONFIRE for the last few years, but decided that we wanted something a little bigger that puts off a bit more heat, so we ordered the SOLO STOVE YUKON. We have only used it a few times so far because the weather has been warm, but we love it so much! It really does put out a marked amount of more heat than the smaller version.
There are a few of my favorites in this pic for sure! First...I do not normally like Adirondack chairs. At least, I don't normally find them comfortable. For some reason, the pitch of these VISOLA FROM ASHLEY chairs is comfy to me, though! I also like that the cut across the top of the chair makes it look a little more modern in design.
You can tell that I love stripes just from looking at this picture...especially when they're in black and white! As soon as I found this striped OUTDOOR PATIO UMBRELLA, I grabbed two of them right away. They're a great value for the price and look really great on the patio.
More black and white stripes...the OUTDOOR PILLOW COVERS! I actually had the same ones last year and loved them so much that I bought them again. I added some SCOTCHGARD SUN AND WATER SHIELD should help me get another year out of this second set...fingers crossed! WATERPROOF PILLOW INSERTS also make a big difference in the life of an outdoor pillow because they stay so dry and/or dry very quickly!
I also added OUTDOOR STORAGE OTTOMANS to the patio this year to use with our Adirondack chairs. They make the experience even more comfy for me...game changer!
I always get asked about the black and white striped planters that I have outside. I love to share that they are actually trash cans! I drilled holes into the bottoms of them for drainage and they have worked very well for several years. The exact ones arent available anymore, but I have found a similar STRIPED TRASH CAN with an added gold band at the top.
Fountains have been at the top of my list this year, especially SOLAR FOUNTAINS! I love them so much because I can have a fountain anywhere in the yard...without needing an outlet nearby. I have three so far and have actually been thinking about adding another one!
If you do have an outlet on the outside of your house, I can't recommend an actual fountain enough! I love the sound that they make...they truly transform a space and the experience enjoying it. The one that I bought this year isn't available right now, but I found a very similar OUTDOOR FOUNTAIN that looks just as pretty...if not more so!
I've been on the lookout for a CAST IRON BISTRO SET for the garden area for so long and finally found one at an estate sale this summer! I'm not sure how old it is, though, because I found a very similar (if not the same set) online for you to share here! I like the color of the one I got, but I haven't decided if I will leave it or paint it. I'm not in any hurry, though.
I realized I don't have very good pictures of our garden beds as a whole, but you can get the idea from these. We invested in the Vego Raised Garden Beds last year and I love the look and function of them! They're a bit of work to put together, but definitely worth it. We haven't finished this space, but it looks so good just with the beds in place this year!
The last little bit of magic I wanted to share from our yard are all the OUTDOOR SOLAR LIGHTS that we have. These genuinely bring me so much joy when I see them all come on and create such a lovely glow throughout our yard. I've had many of them for over a year (some much longer) and they are still just as bright and beautiful now! Also, they get left out all year round...no matter the weather!
