Laundry is one of those tasks that no one likes to do, but we have to! I’m sharing a few of my favorite laundry room decor and tools that will make doing laundry a bit easier and a lot more fun!

I don’t think that anyone has ever said that they love doing laundry. If they have…would you believe them? It’s a seemingly endless chore that can drag on for days, if you don’t get things folded right away. I’m 100% of that. Are you?

I can’t take laundry off your to-do list, but I can share a few of my favorite laundry room decor/organizing pieces with you, along with some laundry tools that will make this never-ending task a little better for us all.

  1. Sea Team 19.7 Inches Large Sized Waterproof Coating Ramie Cotton Fabric Folding Laundry Hamper — I love having a hamper that looks cute and that has handles, making it easier to carry to the laundry room!

  2. BEAUTURAL Steamer for Clothes, Foldable Handheld Clothing Wrinkles Remover for Garments

  3. mDesign Plastic Round Trash Can Small Wastebasket, Garbage Bin Container with Swing-Close Lid

  4. 3 Tier Metal Utility Cart - Brightroom™ — We removed most of our laundry room cabinets to make room for floating shelves, so this rolling utility cart helps make up for the loss of storage.

  5. Fabric Shaver Rechargeable Lint Remover, Electric Lint Shaver Sweater Defuzz Shaver — These little gadgets are so handy! I use them all the time on clothes and linens!

  6. IKEA Carafe With Stopper, 3.54 x 11.02 x 3.54 inches, Clear Glass — We do have open laundry room shelves, so this makes our detergents and other liquids look so much prettier!

  7. Woolzies Wool Dryer Balls Organic — We’ve used these to replace toxic dryer sheets!

  8. Buffalo Check Cotton Dish, Decorative Oversized Towels

  9. Y-Weave Basket Bin 11" - Room Essentials™ — I have these bins in several colors and sizes.

  10. Galvanized Laundry Drying Rack — This has been so handy in our laundry room! I love that it folds up when not in use.

We gave our laundry room/mudroom a makeover a couple of years ago and it is so much happier than it used to be! It tends to be a dark room…even now, so any brightening up in there is so much appreciated. While this post isn’t about the makeover itself, hopefully the images will give you some laundry room ideas!

There are more things I’d like to do in the space, like removing the large mudroom-style lockers. They are not functional at all and the the piece just takes up so much room. As I think I mention in every blog post I write lately, I’m not sure how long we’re staying in this house, so for now, the lockers will stay. If we take those out…it will be a big spiral of other things I’d like to do. You know how that is, right?

In the spirit of sharing positive things about our home, I do love that we have a laundry room sink, for occasional spotting of clothes and other messier jobs that I don’t want in the kitchen sink. We always have a soap and towel handy for muddy hands, from working outside! I am also so thankful that we have laundry on our main level. The laundry room was in our basement in our old house and that was such a drag.

Laundry drying rack with towels on it. large black wooden locker, trailing plant. purses hanging on hooks.

This folding drying rack has been a life-saver for space in the laundry room! We hang a lot of our clothes up and this is perfect for all the smaller items, as well as delicates!

I know the only thing that can truly take the sting out of doing laundry would be to hire someone to do it. While I don’t know that’s in many people’s budgets to do, you can totally make your laundry experience a bit more manageable with a few of my favorites!

I hope that this post has been helpful and maybe you’ll enjoy doing laundry with a few of these items added to your arsenal. Whether you want to do a laundry room makeover or just get a few tools that will make the task easier, there’s something for everyone!
