We have been on a health journey for what seems like decades... It can be so overwhelming to find all the things and make all the changes. Not only that, but it can be extremely expensive! It's hard to look at everything you've already purchased and then think about throwing it away and buying new. I will admit that as we've made changes, I really have just straight up thrown things away and bought cleaner and healthier replacements. I mean...seems silly to put your health at risk just to finish something up and then make a better choice.
Not everyone has that luxury, though, I understand. The best advice I can give when making the switch to healthier/cleaner products is that as something runs out, replace it with the best option you can afford. You don't want to wait until you need it, though, so make sure you're doing the research ahead of time so you're ready to go.
One thing that has made souring better options for our household a lot easier is becoming a member of AZURE STANDARD. It's FREE to join and there is no monthly commitment to order. I have to tell you that straight away because I know so many people shy away from anything you have to "join," but this is such a blessing of a service...I don't want you to shy away from it for that reason! Joining, for us, has meant so much less time driving around to different stores trying to find all the things I'm looking for. We even live in a pretty big city, with lots of options, and I still struggled to get it all. Not to mention that I can't stand traffic and going in and out of stores. My Azure pick up makes it so much easier. I can get almost everything we need at my once a month trip...and just fill in with the few extras we might need.
First things first...
I created an AZURE STANDARD account a year before I ordered anything. Don't be me. Ha! Seriously, though, if it takes you that long to feel comfortable in putting an order in, it's totally ok. I'm just sad that I didn't take the time to familiarize myself with it sooner because it really is amazing!
Azure Standard has different drop spots all over the United States. You can put your zip code to find the closest "DROP" to you. Don't have one that's close enough? You can set up your own! We've already decided that it's such a valuable asset to our healthy lifestyle that when we make our move in retirement to our dream town...we will still make the monthly drive to do a pick up. It really is that great!
Once you have your account set up and know where your drop or pick up spot is, you can start ordering. Now, I will say that this is still a little daunting to me, but simply because AZURE STANDARD literally has thousands of products to choose from. This is where I take my own advice for make healthier swaps. When we run out of something, I am already researching options on Azure's site to see if they have something I can order in its place. I love that I'm able to stay logged into my account all the time, so as I think of things, I just hop on and add it to my cart.
Pro-tip: add a couple of items to your cart and then check out. You can still add items all month, but this way, you won't get to the day orders process and forget...and then not get your order. I've had that happen exactly one time and it made me so sad!
I mentioned earlier that there is no cost to joining Azure Standard and that there is no minimum requirement for ordering. You don't even have to place a monthly order unless you want to. Depending on your family's needs, you may choose to do a couple of bigger orders a year...or smaller orders each month. You have total freedom in ordering however works for you! Also, don't think that you have to order bulk of anything. There is always a single package option. I often do that to try and then if we like the item, I will order a case...such a great way to save money!
Another way AZURE saves in cost is by cutting out the middle man. So, products are trucked directly from their warehouse to the consumer. So, at our pick ups, we as members are responsible for helping to unload the truck and make sure everyone gets their goodies. It sounds like a bigger deal than it is, really. The whole process normally takes less than 15 minutes at our drop. Yours might be different, depending on how many people place orders, but everyone chips in and it goes quickly!
Azure has such a variety and breadth of products, I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of what they offer. If you are interested in eating cleaner and/or using more natural products, they have you covered. If you are a home baker or cook, ordering in bulk is a much more cost-effective way to shop. If you have dietary restrictions, such as paleo or gluten-free, you will find a large number of things to choose from! The products Azure offers are not limited to foodstuffs either. They sell supplements, personal care, cleaning products, animal care items, plant starts and seeds, canning and food storage supplies...the list seems endless!
A few other things that I love about the AZURE STANDARD ordering experience:
- You can always shop your past orders. There's a "Products I've Ordered" tab that makes remembering things you loved a lot easier to remember. You can also "Favorite" products as you try them and shop that way as well!
- Azure has tabs for both "Sale" and "Clearance" items...making saving money even easier.
- You can set a tab to search specifically for organic products only.
- There is a tab to search by certain brands.
- You earn Azure Cash with every order and there is a tab to search items with a "Bonus Azure Cash" offering. You can then put that toward future orders.
Honestly, there are so many amazing things to say about Azure Standard, but you just really have to get on their site and take a look around to really understand. Even then, they offer so much goodness, you might be like I am...a year in...and still be finding out new and amazing things about it!
