How to Store Bananas for a Smoothie

No items found.

Who remembers that freak-out scene on Saved By The Bell when Jessie Spano is taking caffeine pills and Zack Morris comes to her rescue?? Oh man…one of my faves! If you haven’t seen it, you can find it over HERE – and you’re welcome for the laugh!

But seriously…I’m pretty sure we’re all running behind most of the time with a million things on our to-do list. If you enjoy a morning smoothie like we do, here’s a little trick that will save you some time and, bonus, money saved on brown bananas!

  1. Peel bananas and cut into 1” chunks.

  2. Line banana chunks into rows on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. You can find my favorite HERE. THESE pans are good too!

  3. Place pan in freezer over-night.

  4. Store frozen banana chunks in a freezer-safe bag until you’re ready to use.

You can just add the frozen banana pieces to your smoothie cup and blend as-is! It makes your whole drink cold + delicious! I usually add 4 pieces (approx. ½ a banana).
