Better Than Sex Cake
I know a lot of people like to call this dessert something else, but I’m sticking with the original, so Better Than Sex Cake it is! Hope it doesn’t offend anyone’s sensitivities too much, because once you make it, you will understand. Trust a girl.
This is literally THE dessert I make that people ask for specifically, and it will be devoured in one sitting. Also, it couldn’t be easier to make, so it’s perfect for get togethers or when you need something quick to make without a bunch of ingredients + steps!
My secret trick (not proven to be secret, but that’s what I’m saying) when making Better Than Sex Cake is to bake the cake a couple of days in advance. This gives the caramel, butterscotch, and sweetened condensed milk time to soak in and get good and ooey gooey! Store the cake in the fridge until you’re ready to enjoy, then you can top with the Cool Whip + candy pieces.
I promise that once you make this dessert, you will be everyone’s hero (unless they don’t like chocolate, but those folks aren’t our people), and you also need to be prepared to make it many more times. It’s amazing, delicious, and dare I say…better than sex. Nah, friends…the name lies a bit, but it is ridiculously good.
What You’ll Need:
1 box German chocolate cake, prepared according to directions
1, 12oz jar Caramel Sauce
1, 12oz jar Butterscotch Sauce
1, 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1, 8 oz container Cool Whip (I use extra creamy, of course)
½ package Bits o’ brickle toffee
Directions:
Bake cake according to directions on box for 9”x13” pan.
When the cake has cooled a bit, use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes over the entire cake.
Pour caramel, butterscotch, and sweetened condensed milk over the top of the cake. Using a spoon, smooth the toppings over the cake so they are evenly distributed and work into the holes you’ve made. (Refrigerate after this step until you’re ready to enjoy—do this—the cake will be so much better!)
Top with Cool Whip and Bits o’ Brickle.
If you want to get extra fancy, you can save some of the caramel + butterscotch sauces to drizzle over the top of the Cool Whip and add a little chocolate sauce if you’d like too!
